Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbomoso South Local Government on Friday paid a solidarity visit to the Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole (Wolekanle)
The visit, which took place at the Chairman of Local Government Service Commission office in Ibadan, was described by the delegation as a personal and recommendation gesture to celebrate one of their own who has distinguished himself in public service.
The delegation included Hon. Taiwo Alagbe, former local government chairman and member of the state executive ;Hon. Oguntoye Michael ( Baba Oguns) Hon. Isaac Olajide; and Hon. Ajao Olusegun Sunday.
The PDP leaders thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for appointing Wolekanle to a strategic position, noting that his performance has been commendable.
“We are proud of your achievements, and we thank Governor Makinde for placing you in a position to serve. Your accessibility and humility have set you apart as a true leader,” one of the leaders said.
They used the occasion to call on Wolekanle to support efforts aimed at reducing unemployment by facilitating government job placements for qualified youths in Ogbomoso South. “We have many young people at home seeking meaningful employment. We appeal to you to help open doors for them whenever opportunities arise,” they pleaded.
In his response, Bashorun Wolekanle expressed gratitude for the visit and reassured the leaders of his unwavering loyalty to the party and commitment to grassroots development. He urged them to remain united and continue supporting Governor Makinde’s administration. “Our strength lies in our unity. Let’s work together to ensure a stronger PDP ahead of the 2027 elections.
