Caretaker Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim’s Ajagbe(Tuskay) has said that the people of Ogbomoso are fervently praying for the quick recovery of Governor Seyi Makikde from coronavirus infection.


The chairman, in.a statement made available to newsmen in Ogbomoso said that the people have truly shown that they appreciate the executive Governor of Oyo state , Engineer Seyi Makinde for bringing smiles to their faces after years of gloom.

According to.him, Makinde-led administration has within the shortest possible time ended the incidence of non-payment of workers salary, pension and other emoluments, by fixing the payment for every 25th ot the month.


“By declaring that salaries.and pensions must be paid not later than 25th of every month, governor Makinde has worn over the people and shown himself as.a caring leader,” Ajagbe said.


He added that the prompt action of the government in t containing the dreaded pandemic, Coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID 19 has further endeared the governor to the people more than ever before.


“The infectious disease center, Olodo, Ibadan and the Diagnostic Centre for Coronavirus put up at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan as well as the operation of LAUTECH, Ogbomoso isolation centre are direct examples of governor Makinde’s commitment not just to Ogbomosoland but to the entire people of Oyo state.


“Such modest achievement lend credence to Makinde’s pragmatic approach to containing the pandemic,” the Council Chairman said. The statement further read: “Unfortunately, in the course of proctecting his people and in his all out effort to continually justify the confidence reposed in him, he contacted the ailment himself, what an irony?

“The governor has since the time of the detection of his ailment been in isolation. As Mark’s of appreciation of the governor, Ogbomoso people in particular have organised prayer sessions for the his quick recovery.

“The curfew imposed on the town notwithstanding, people in two, three and groups are praying for the governor.
Many have been using the avenue of especially social media to send in words of prayers for Engineer Makinde.


“Besides, local government chairmen in Ogbomoso zone have also organised prayer sessions for the governor where leading religious leaders both Muslim, Christians as well traditionalists were saddled with praying for quick recovery for the governor.”
