Ogbomoso Community Foundation Elects New Executive Committee

Ogbomoso Community Foundation (OCF) , a social-cultural and non-political organization of sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland has  elected  new executive Committee

The election was part of activities marking the 18th Annual General Assembly (AGA) held on Saturday 23rd November at the Ogbomoso Recreation Club, in Ogbomoso,Oyo State.

The New Executive Council members includes Alhaji Kelani Adebisi Sanni who was re-elected as the Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Babalola AIG (rtd) was also returned as Vice-Chairman, Prof. Olusola Oyetunji as the General Secretary,Engr. Yemi Bello as Assistant General Secretary.

 Other elected officers into the Executive committee are Mr. Akin Akano as Treasurer,Hon. Ademola Olateju as financial Secretary,Mr Bolaji Tunji as Publicity Secretary, Mrs Ruth Adeyinka as Social Secretary and Mr Yomi Oyedeji was elected as Ex-Officio.

The Chairman,Executive Council, Alhaji Kelani Sanni in his acceptance speech pledged absolute commitment and total dedication towards actualising the laudable programs of the organization.

 Sanni who was returned unoppose promise to take the OCF to a glorious height. Speaking on Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso crisis he said”there was relative peace in LAUTECH of  recent, but one of the co-owner cannot meet her financial obligations, Ogbomoso Community Foundation education committee on LAUTECH, comprising eminent people in Oyo State has meet with the governor to find solution to the problem.”

He stated further that  within the next two years, Ogbomoso will experience industrial development “we are going to have industries in Ogbomoso because there are numerous members of OCF who are ready to join the technical committees on Commerce and industry and we are sure of having a private University in addition to LAUTECH very soon.

The Chairman acknowledged the financial contributions of the members which ,according to him enhanced the actualization of the people oriented projects notable such as medical outreach among other community service projects.

Alhaji Sanni also added that the unemployment that is rampant among the youths of Ogbomoso will soon become the thing of the past ” The most important thing in any industry is electricity, when there is electricity captain of industries will want to stay, by the grace of God, the OCF is pressurizing that the 32KVA is completed this year, so that industries will come up and to create employment for youths.

In his  keynote  address the former military Governor of Oyo State, who is also the Chairman, Board of Trustees and Leader of OCF, Major-General Oladayo Popoola (rtd), OFR, mini. charged members and executive members to remain committed to the development of Ogbomoso and also commended members for their unalloyed interests, commitment and dedication to the ideals of the OCF.

The General Assembly also feature reports by Chairmen of various standing technical committees for the outgoing years including  the auditors report.

The Representatives of  members of affiliated groups, associations and societies were all present to add colour to the event.
