The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, left behind a legacy of unwavering dedication to the development and prosperity of the city and its people, says popular Ibadan philanthropist and Chairman of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi.
Chief Sanusi, in a tribute to the late monarch, described him as a revered leader whose reign and life were marked by remarkable contributions to the growth of Ibadan and the advancement of national interests.
“Oba Olakulehin’s illustrious reign as the Olubadan of Ibadanland was marked by his tireless efforts to promote unity, progress, and cultural heritage within our beloved city,” Sanusi said.
According to him, the monarch’s visionary leadership and commitment to the welfare of his people earned him admiration and respect across social and political circles.
“Under his guidance, Ibadan experienced significant advancements in various spheres of life, from infrastructure to education, healthcare, and beyond,” he noted.
Sanusi also highlighted Oba Olakulehin’s influence beyond the palace, recalling his tenure as a member of the House of Representatives, where he championed causes that uplifted the voices of ordinary Nigerians and advocated for meaningful national change.
“His legacy as a statesman and public servant will forever be remembered by generations to come,” he concluded.
