Inauguration of Newly Elected LG Chairmen Holds Monday 24th May

Suspends Councillorship election at Ward 5

There are clear indications that the swearing in for the newly elected council chairmen and their vices will hold on monday

The election was conducted on Saturday May 22 across the state and that of ido  local government has been rescheduled for 29th May

So far Peoples Democratic part PDP in has won in 32 local governments according to the result announced by Aare Isiaka Olagunju, SAN, the Chairman of OYSIEC

The local governments won so far by the ruling PDP include: Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Kajola, Iwajowa, Atisbo, Saki East and Saki West.

Others are: Ibadan North East, Akinyele, Oluyole, Lagelu, Ibadan North West, Egbeda, Ibadan South West, Ona Ara, Ibadan North and Ibadan South East,Oorelope, Irepo, Olorunsogo, Ogbomoso North, Ogbomosho South, Ogo-Oluwa, Oriire, Surulere, Ibarapa Central, Ibarapa North, Afijio, Atiba, Oyo West and Oyo East.

Election for the Iddo LG was suspended as a result of the ommission of the logo of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) on the ballot paper on Saturday.

The election has been rescheduled for May 29

Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, Oyo State PDP Secretary in a congratutoy statement to the election chairmen also confirmed

According to him,”I want to on behalf of the Leadership of the Party say a very big congratulations to you all”.

“This election is a clear testament that our party is loved and our major responsibility is to maintain and sustain the love of the people”.
“I pray that Almighty God will give us all the wisdom, strength and capacity to do well for our people and lead them appropriately”.
“PDP in Oyo State is proud of you and once again, we say congratulations to you all”.
“This is to also inform you all that your swearing in is 10am tomorrow at the House of Chiefs, Ibadan”, Adeleke ended
