The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Oyo State Chapter, has expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, DSc, GSSR for his continuous commitment to strengthening the Civil and Public Service through purposeful leadership and strategic appointments.
In a Press Release issued by the Head of Service of Oyo State, our amiable Comrade Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, mni on 6th March, 2026, the appointment of sixteen (16) new Permanent Secretaries in the Civil and Public Service of the State was officially announced. Among those elevated to this prestigious cadre are three distinguished officers from the Local Government Sector, whose dedication, professional excellence and heavenly consideration have earned them this meritorious recognition.
They are:
1. Mrs. Titilope Lanre Adesina
2. Mr. Jubril Adekola Alaga
3. Mr. Iyiola Layi Olalekan
The President of the Union in the State, Comrade Adeogun Ayobami Olusegun, in his congratulatory correspondence, warmly felicitated with the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, describing their elevation as well-deserved, inspiring, and a testament to their years of diligent service, administrative competence and unwavering commitment to the growth of the Local Government system in the State.
Comrade Adeogun further conveyed the deep appreciation of the entire Local Government workforce to Governor Makinde for his unending magnanimity, visionary leadership and people-oriented governance which continue to uplift the morale of workers across all sectors of the State’s Public Service.
According to him, the Governor has consistently demonstrated uncommon dedication to institutional development and human capital advancement, noting that his administration has remained a beacon of hope and progressive transformation for workers and citizens of Oyo State.
“Your Excellency’s leadership style has continued to inspire confidence among workers. Your deliberate efforts at promoting merit, professionalism and fairness in the service remain highly commendable. Indeed, GSM is a blessing not only to the workforce but to the entire people of Oyo State,” the statement read.
While appreciating the Governor for these laudable strides, the NULGE President also humbly appealed to His Excellency to graciously look into the pending matter concerning the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), which he had earlier promised to implement in the month of January during the Year 2026 Annual Interfaith Prayers Programme organized for workers in the State.
Comrade Adeogun expressed optimism that the Governor, known for his responsiveness and commitment to workers’ welfare will give the matter favourable consideration in the interest of administrative efficiency and the continued growth of the Local Government Service and Workers’ therein.
The Union reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty and support to the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, assuring the government of its readiness to continually maintain the cordial working relationship that has existed between the government and the Local Government workforce.
NULGE therefore pledged its continued cooperation in promoting policies and programmes that will further strengthen grassroots governance, enhance service delivery and advance the overall development of Oyo State.
