The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Oyo State Council received with shock and consternation the death of a former Chairman of our Council, Mr. Sehinde Dagunduro.
NUJ in. condolence message signed by The state chairman, Mr Adewumi Faniran and Secretry Bola Ogunlayi, said the deceased was a through bred professional and Unionist per excellence whose activities and leadership qualities earned him the naming of our Administrative building/Health Center after him.
It was on record that Mr. Dagunduro used his connections and that of his Executives to attract completion of various projects including, Construction of the first Health Center Building donated by the late former Military Administrator, Col. qSasaenia Adedeji Oresanya in 1990, Collection of Certificate of Occupancy for the Press Centre, creation of the Bala Suya Spot, organized foreign training for Journalists among others.
A man with passion for the development of our great Union who would not shirk away from responsibilities even when not convenient for him, is everything to the NUJ, a cerebral Journalist whose successful imprints dot the landscape of the profession.
Mr Dagunduro is a friend to everybody, intelligent, simple, loyal and team player who has traversed the length and breadth of the country representing the NUJ in search of better life for the citizens in line with the responsibilities attached to his office and practice as a Journalist.
The deceased was a good reporter, progressive to the core, a committed Christian, caring father and a Veteran who would always charged the young ones in the profession to face the Challenge of making the government to be alive to their responsibilities at all levels.
Oyo State Council commiserates with the immediate family of Mr. Sehinde Dagunduro, the League of Veteran Journalists to which he belong till death came calling and the entire Journalists in Oyo State over the death of the icon.
