As political activities unexpectedly begin to gather momentum in Oyo state ahead of 2027 general elections, popular Nollywood actor, Ayanfe Adekunle famously known as ‘Monsuru’ has drummed support for Engineer Dotun Sanusi in the next gubernatorial race.
Adekunle, renowned for his compelling comical roles in Nollywood movies, made the public show of support in a statement attached with a release of 2 minutes 58 seconds promo soundtrack to garner support for Engr. Sanusi.
Adekunle, who has garnered widespread admiration and fanbase for his roles in several hit films, praised Sanusi’s vision for the state and his commitment to socio-economic development.
The actor lauded Engr. Sanusi as a philanthropist of note describing him as a humanitarian per excellent, and called on the people of the state to support the aspirations of the Ibadan born business mogul.
Recall that Engr. Sanusi had earlier in a statement widely reported in a section of the online media directed his supporters and well wishers to halt all political engagements regarding his governorship aspirations saying his commitment to philanthropy and humanitarian service born out of empathy for the less privileged and not political gains.
“Engr. Dotun Sanusi is a man of integrity, vision, and dedication, he understands the needs of our people and has a clear plan to address them.
“It’s time for our people to consolidate on the gains of good governance being enjoyed under the present administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, and I believe Engr. Dotun Sanusi is the right choice.” Adekunle said.
According to the released official soundtrack by Adekunle to promote Engr. Sanusi’s governorship aspiration, the philanthropist via his vision for economic development has transformed rural areas in the state such Akanran, Amuloko, Ajia, and Ilaji to urban centers through his multi billion naira hospitality business and making life more meaningful for residents in the area.
Describing Engr. Sanusi as a shining star, the actor said past governors in the state since the return of Democracy in 1999 have represented two of the three senatorial districts which are Oyo South and North with exception of Oyo Central seantorial district.
He maintained that Oyo Central should be allowed to produce the next governor of the state in the spirit of fairness and political balance among the three senatorial districts, while also assuring that he would continue to drum support for the business mogul to succeed the incumbent, Governor Seyi Makinde come 2027.
