Nobody Died in Ibadan Building Collapse – Arulogun

Oyo state commissioner for Information,Culture and Tourism Mr Toye Arulogun has said that nobody died in the collapsed building in Ibadan.

A two storey building under construction collapsed at Sogoye area, Bode Ibadan on friday evening and several people were injured.

The commissioner while featuring on a radio programm on saturday morning said immediately they were informed of the incident, the state government deployed all concerned agencies to the scene to rescue the victims.

He said further that immediately the incident happened, the site Engineer fled the site abandoning artisans and labourer trapped in the rubbles

While assuring thorough investigation on the matter , Arulogun said the state government will look into the necessary documents including the building plan approval before the next step is taken

He however advise people to always abide by the approved plan and use quality materials for construction. ” When constructing always have in mind that people will resides or work in that building, the structure should be solid He said .
