Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has declared that Christians hold the ace for the success of the ongoing transformation agenda in Nigeria and urged them to continue to join force with the Federal Government in the efforts to establish the virtues of Godliness and good governance across the country.
He made the declaration in his keynote address at the grand finale of the Centenary anniversary of Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide at Ikeji-Arakeji over the weekend.
The Vice President said: “As Christians, our duty as gospel propagators is also to change the narratives in our country. Politicians don’t have the answer to all the wrongs in the country. It is the Church of the Lord, Jesus Christ that has the answers to the transformation of nations.”
According to the Vice President, “the essence of the gospel is for us to teach righteousness so that our nation and our people will be exalted.”
To this end, therefore, he specifically enjoined the Christianson to “join in establishing the virtues of God in politics, business, in entertainment, literature, science, etc.”
Professor Osinbajo hailed “God’s power and mightiness” in the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide since inception 100 years ago till date as manifested in its spreading of the gospel and salvation of souls.
His words:  “God has demonstrated through the Christ Apostolic Church movement that He does not need money to do His work.  Neither does He need Professors and men of great scholarship to propagate the gospel.  The anointing of God has made it work that even the humblest of men and women can bring the good news of delivering the oppressed from evil spirit and captivity of the devil, healing the sick and even raising the dead.  That is the marvellous power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“This generation of believers has a duty to take the gospel to the next level in their own time. God is quick to send to each generation all that they require to do exploit for the gospel.  This generation of faith has our own responsibility to our generation.  The first responsibility that we have is to be united regardless of denominations.
” Let us therefore march forward in unity and propagate the gospel to deliver the millions waiting for salvation regardless of our denominations knowing that Christ is the counterpoint of our faith.”
The Vice President then tasked the leadership of the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide to “accurately document for posterity the great work that God has done in the very many decades of the gospel in our country through His Apostles in Nigeria.”
Speaking earlier on the theme of the Centenary celebration which is “100 Years of Walking with God”, the President of the CAC Worldwide, Pastor Abraham Akinosun explained that the Anniversary was aimed at meditation and rededication of lives for continued service as the Church moves on to greater heights.
Pastor Akinosun however remarked that the Church is much concerned over the persistent killings of Christians, particularly in the Northern part of the country and urged the authorities to redouble efforts in finding lasting solutions to the menace.
He assured that the Church will continue to pray for the survival of Nigeria and grand success of the 2019 general elections.
Highlight of the Anniversary was the conferment of the Distinguished Personality Award on Vice President Osinbajo, among other Centenary award recipients at the event.
