Nigeria Senate today observe a minute silent in honour of a former member of the National Assembly Senator Robert Koleosho who died on 9th April, 2020.
This followed a motion moved by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari in honour of the late lawmaker
The motion was titled “THE DEMISE OF SENATOR ROBERT KOLEOSHO (THE MAYEGUN OF SAKILAND)”
Senator Koleoso represented Oyo North at the upper chamber of the National Assembly between 2003-2007
Briefing the Senate on the demise of the late lawmaker, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari said Koleosho played a prominent role in facilitating many developmental prajects for his people in Oyo North
Buhari pointed out that “Due to his international exposure and personal integrity. the then Senate Leadership made him Chaiman Senate Committee on Cooperation and Integration of Africa and member Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debt whose tenure aw to ramarkable debt relief package between Nigeria and Paris
He said further that Senator Robert Koleosho was one of the rallying paints for Nigerians during lifetimme,an epitome of selfes service humanitarian and philanthropat who devoted greater part of his lifetime to humanity
Senate President, Ahmed Lawan who ordered a minute silent in honour of the late lawmaker prayed for the repose of his soul and ask God to grant his immediate and extended family tye fortitude to bear the loss
