Nigeria Police Academy Opens Admission for 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes

The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, has announced the commencement of its online application process for admission into the 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes, starting from 28th July to 8th September 2025.

According to a statement signed by DSP Umar Musa Isah, Police Public Relations Officer on behalf of the Commandant, the Academy is inviting qualified and interested young Nigerians to apply and take advantage of the opportunity to build a career in the Nigeria Police Force through comprehensive academic and professional training.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be of Nigerian origin and possess a National Identity Number (NIN).
  • Have a minimum JAMB score of 180 in the 2025 UTME and must have selected the Nigeria Police Academy as first choice.
  • Possess a minimum of six credits including English and Mathematics in not more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO or equivalent (results before 2021 will not be accepted).
  • Be aged between 16 and 21 years by 31st October 2025.
  • Be physically, medically and psychologically fit, with a minimum height of 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females.
  • For males only: have a minimum chest measurement of 86cm.
  • Be unmarried and not pregnant.
  • Have a valid email address and phone number.

Method of Application

Applicants are to visit admission.polac.edu.ng to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code and pay a non-refundable fee of ₦6,000 (including ₦2,000 for Post-UTME) through any commercial bank.

Upon payment, applicants must:

  • Complete the online application form.
  • Upload scanned copies of required credentials:
    • SSCE Certificate
    • Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
    • Certificate of Origin

Applicants are also required to print their completed application form and guarantor form, which must be presented during the screening exercise.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of four key stages:

  1. Aptitude Test (CBT): Conducted at the Academy’s ICT Centre (date to be announced).
  2. Automated Physical Screening: Candidates must present original copies of credentials including:
    • Academic qualifications
    • Birth certificate
    • Medical fitness certificate (from a government hospital)
    • Certificate of good character (from village/district head)
    • Indigene certificate (signed by LG Chairman/Secretary)
    • Guarantor form (signed by senior public official, Police, Military, or Paramilitary officer)
  3. Automated Medical Screening
  4. Final Interview and Selection Exercise

All successful candidates will be contacted via SMS and email. Training will commence on a date to be announced later.

Available Degree Programmes

The Academy offers courses across the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Humanities: English, History & International Studies, Linguistics
  • Faculty of Science: Biochemistry, Computer Science, Forensic Science
  • Faculty of Social and Management Sciences: Accounting, Criminology, Psychology, Political Science, Education Management

Training Duration and Commissioning

Successful candidates will undergo five years of intensive academic and police training, culminating in the award of a Bachelor’s Degree and commissioning as Assistant Superintendent of Police II in the Nigeria Police Force.
