As part of its strategic plan for the Pilgrimage exercise slated for early next year, the delegation of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC and the States Pilgrimage Leaders embarked on an inspection tour of select hotels in Rome where the pilgrims would be accommodated during the forthcoming Main Pilgrimage exercise.
On Tuesday, 19th December, 2023, the Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam led the states Pilgrimage Leaders and Managers on an inspection tour of facilities in the hotels in Rome.
Celestine Toruka,Deputy Director/Head and Public Relations in a statement said
Dr Pam urged them to carefully look out for a good hall where pilgrims would have the opportunity to pray together within the hotel, good facilities in the room, logistics, amongst others should be considered.
Rev Pam affirmed that the Commission would not compromise on the welfare of any Nigerian pilgrims, hence the need to ensure that all concerns raised for the forthcoming Main Pilgrimage exercise in Rome and Greece early next year are timely addressed ahead of the commencement of the Pilgrimage exercise.
Prior to the inspection tour of the hotels, the delegation visited St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican city, the most important holy site in Vatican and Rome .
At the end of the inspection tour of the hotels, the NCPC boss said the delegation while in Athens would deliberate on their findings and make recommendations.
He thanked them for their cooperation and commitment to the advancement of Christian Pilgrimage in their various states and Nigeria as a whole.
The delegation will depart for Greece this Wednesday, 20th December, 2023 in continuation of their inspection tour of Holy sites and hotels in Greece .
