The National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) has inaugurated the newly elected executive members of its Osun State chapter, charging them to uphold inclusiveness and take decisive action against quackery in the travel industry.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Osogbo, Otunba Babatunde Adesokan, the Vice President of NANTA Western Zone, emphasized the importance of professionalism in the travel and tourism sector.

He urged the new executives to unite all members, promote ethical business practices, and safeguard the association’s reputation by combating fraudulent operators.

Adesokan noted that quackery remains a significant challenge in the travel industry, leading to financial losses and credibility issues.

He encouraged the newly inaugurated executives to work collaboratively in sanitizing the sector by ensuring that only registered and licensed travel agencies operate within the state.

“The travel industry plays a crucial role in economic growth and tourism development. It is, therefore, imperative that we eliminate unregistered and fraudulent operators who tarnish the image of genuine practitioners. I urge the new leadership in Osun State to take this responsibility seriously and promote best practices,” he stated.

The newly inaugurated executives who will steer the affairs of NANTA in Osun State include:

1. Mr. Olabiyi Solomon – State Coordinator

2. Mrs. Ruth Ajayi – State Deputy Coordinator

3. Alh. Abubakre Akeem – State Secretary
