The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CEOAFRICA, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, has received dual national honours from the National Association of Nigerian Students and the Youth Coalition for Education in Nigeria in recognition of his contributions to media development and societal transformation.
The awards were presented during a formal ceremony at Ilobanafor’s office, attended by student leaders and youth advocates from across the country. The recognition, according to the organisers, underscores his role in advancing developmental journalism, promoting credible narratives and amplifying youth-focused discourse in Nigeria and across Africa.
Under the honours, NANS designated Ilobanafor as an “Icon and Cynosure of Societal Transformation,” while YOCEN conferred on him a “Certificate of Noble Prize for Excellence,” with the title “Vanguard of Societal Transformation in Nigeria.”
The YOCEN delegation said the selection followed a rigorous assessment of his professional track record, citing his commitment to ethical journalism, courage in storytelling and sustained efforts to give voice to underserved communities.
In his acceptance remarks, Ilobanafor expressed appreciation to the student bodies, describing the recognition as particularly significant coming from Nigeria’s youth constituency.
“I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition from Nigerian students—the leaders of tomorrow,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to national service and responsible journalism.
He urged young people to take active roles in nation-building, stressing that Nigeria’s greatest strength lies in its youthful population. According to him, expanding opportunities for service and innovation remains critical to the country’s development.
Ilobanafor also highlighted his role as initiator of the Geneith Health Competition (GHC), a youth-driven advocacy platform aimed at combating malaria. He encouraged students in secondary and tertiary institutions to participate in the 2026 edition, noting that the initiative positions participants as ambassadors in the fight against the disease.
Organisers said the dual honours reflect Ilobanafor’s sustained advocacy for youth empowerment, ethical media practice and the promotion of positive societal values—principles they described as central to the missions of both organisations.
