The National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has refuted reports circulating on social media claiming that Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, paid him homage and pledged to work with him.
In an official statement on Monday, Akinsanya described the report as false, fabricated, and misleading, stressing that the viral image being used to back the claim was manipulated.
He noted that several fact-checking platforms and blogs had already exposed the image as photoshopped, confirming that there was no evidence of any meeting or congratulatory message from Obi to him.
“I categorically state that this report is entirely false and without basis. I am currently abroad, and any claims suggesting otherwise are baseless. I urge the public to disregard this false news and rely on credible sources of information,” the statement read in part.
MC Oluomo further reaffirmed his loyalty and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration’s Hope Agenda.
