A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC in Oyo state Engineer Mufatu Open Salawu has urged Governor Seyi Makinde to amend the law that established LAUTECH and change the name to Ladoke Akintola University (LAU) Ogbomoso.

The Ogbomoso born civil Engineer said
Osun state Government gave out LAUTECH because it’s no longer economic viable for the state

He said the development will enable the University to offer more courses and expand the coast of School, increase the intakes and economic activities of Ogbomoso.

Open Salawu in a statement opined that “It doesn’t matter whose tenure that sole ownership of LAUTECH is realized but the right thing has to be done always. When Governor Akala and Governor Oyinlola are in the same party We could not get the ownership despite efforts by Oyo state government and deliberate moves by Governor Akala in upgrading General Hospital Ogbomoso to Teaching Hospitals standard and we hope it will serve the purpose now.”
