Makinde Seeks to Reposition Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery

The Oyo State Governor , Engr Seyi Makinde is poised to reposition the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery for better service delivery and all round development.

To this end , the Governor has forwarded an amendment to the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery law, 2005 to the Oyo State House of Assembly.

The amendment is also to make the College meet up with its accreditation requirements.

The letter was read at Tuesday’s plenary by the Speaker, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin.

The Governor in the letter said it was the focus of his administration to make the tertiary institutions in the state better than it met them.

The letter further read “The amendment bill sought to provide for the establishment of satellite campuses, provide for the Heads of Department of satellite campuses, provide for a more robust membership of the Governing Council of the College, Amend the membership of the Finance and General purpose Committee. ”

Consequent upon this request, a bill to amend the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery Bill, 2005 was read for the first time at the plenary.
