Makinde  Promises to Reposition LAUTECH Teaching Hospital

Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde has reiterated his resolve to reposition LAUTECH teaching hospital, Ogbomoso for optimal productivity.

 He also commissioned the Patients Relative Building and the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) building built and donated by the Ogbomoso Pivotal Club and  inspected the isolation centre that is being constructed. h

The governor while addressing the  staff of the  teaching hospital  harped on the need  to put an end to the long-suffering   and regain the confidence of the Doctors and other staff members.

Discussing the challenges faced by the institution, Governor Makinde announced the  approval on a number of issues including Payment of 2014 corrected CONMESS, Payment of Covid-19 hazard allowance and increased subvention to cover payment of minimum wage, payment of 2016/2017 areas as well as the payment of the salaries of 177 members of staff who were recalled.

The Governor  who promised that the payment will be made by end of this month also assured that a team will screen the 46 staff members who were disengaged from next Monday and if the screening is successful, they will be reinstated.

Other  approved by the governor includes, Implementaion of a pilot study for Semi autonomy for selected secondary health care facilities, Implementation of residency training and placement of doctors who have completed their residency training from 2021.

Makinde noted that most of these issues were inherited from the previous administration.

“We are coming to resolving them while at the same time ensuring that the good people of Oyo state reap all the benefits of good governance,” he said.
