Makinde Appoints Abu Salami, Oyedepo, Bankole to Advisory Council, Replaces Open Salawu with Ex-LAUTECH SUG President

 Oyo State Governor, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of three new members to the Oyo State Advisory Council, alongside new board appointments and administrative changes across government agencies.

The appointments were contained in a statement issued on Friday, September 18, 2026, by the Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

The newly appointed members of the Oyo State Advisory Council are Engr. Abu Salami, Hon. Ezekiel Oyedepo and Hon. (Mrs.) Lydia Bankole.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The council is chaired by legal practitioner, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, SAN.

In another appointment, Hon. Adekunle Oladapo Bankole has been named Chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board.

According to the statement, the appointment was conveyed through letters issued by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, PhD.

The governor also approved the reassignment of three officials to new positions.

Mrs. Adeboyin Elizabeth Oladokun, formerly a member of the Oyo State Housing Corporation, has been appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Diaspora Matters.

Abiodun Oluwaseun Friday, who previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Project Delivery, has been appointed Chairman of the Oyo State Project Performance Monitoring Agency.

He replaces Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Also, Ajao Ibrahim Akinsanmi, formerly a member of the Board of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), has been appointed a member of the Oyo State Housing Corporation.

All the appointments took effect from Friday, September 18, 2026.

Governor Makinde congratulated the appointees and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with loyalty, dedication and commitment to the progress and development of Oyo State.
