Satguru Maharaj Ji, founder of the One Love Family, has raised concerns over what he describes as a renewed attempt by suspected land grabbers to take over his community’s land along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Oyo State.
He said the group of unknown individuals allegedly entered the property at Kilometer Ten in Oluyole Local Government Area accompanied by armed security personnel, creating the impression of an official operation.
According to him, the sudden move marks another phase in a long-running dispute over the land.
Maharaj Ji recalled previous incidents in which members of the One Love Family were arrested, including the late Papa Aladorin, who he claimed died during detention at Agodi Prison, warning that similar patterns appear to be resurfacing.
He also cited pronouncements by former Oyo State governors declaring the area a no-go zone for encroachers, alleging that certain officials may now be tampering with records to undermine those directives.
Describing the alleged invaders as land grabbers and threats to peace, Maharaj Ji vowed that his community would resist any illegal takeover. He said the dispute has drained resources meant for development projects intended to serve the wider public.
The spiritual leader accused some police personnel of colluding with the land grabbers, claiming that officers often accompany the groups onto the land but fail to appear during court proceedings.
He further alleged that powerful businessmen are sponsoring different groups to take possession of the property using forged documents and financial inducements.
According to him, even a former lawyer representing the community was compromised.
Maharaj Ji then questioned why his community’s property is being targeted when there are other suitable locations across Oyo State.
To this end, he appealed to the Oyo State Government, security agencies and the Federal Government to enforce existing court orders and prevent actions that could heighten ethnic or religious tensions in the state.
Reaffirming his message of peace, he urged Nigerians to unite against activities that threaten stability and commended Governor Seyi Makinde and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for promoting adherence to law and order.
