As the race towards the 2023 general election hits up, Loyalists, followers, leaders and Executives of the People’s Democratic Party in Ward 1, Ibadan Northwest Local Government Area of Oyo State has expressed readiness to obtain Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for Mogaji Akin Fagbemi Ph.D to run in the 2023 general elections.

This was disclosed during a solidarity visit of the constituents to the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA), Mogaji Akin Fagbemi Ph.D calling on him to delay no further in declaring intention to run an elective position in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

The delegation, led by the Ward Chairman, Hon. Alade Ojuolape declared absolute support and readiness of party members in the ward and beyond to Purchase the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the OYRTMA Boss in appreciation of his support and leadership as a unifying factor and the pillar upon which the relative peace, unity, tranquility and successes of the Party stands in the ward, local Government and by extension, the federal constituency.

“We are here to identify with our indefatigable leader, father and brother, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi. He has been such a great leader whose commitment to the success of our amiable Governor, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde is unshaken. He is tested and trusted and as such, members of our great party and constituents of Ward 1, Ibadan Northwest Local Government and beyond has decided to join thousands of people across the State to call on him never to hesitate to run an elective position in the 2023 general elections particularly at this time that his leadership is much needed to deliver real dividends of democracy to the people and not some cosmetic and ephemeral items like goats, fowls or chickens in the 21st century in the name of empowerments by some politicians.

As you can see, we are here with leaders of thought in the Party as well as Party Executives to express our support and prayers. Even though we know quite well that Mogaji Akin Fagbemi is blessed with enormous wealth and business success before joining partisan politics, we have concluded arrangements to obtain the Expression of Interest as well as the Nomination Forms of our great party for him to run in the forthcoming elections in whatever capacity he deems fit.

In his reaction, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi expressed great appreciation for the huge confidence reposed in him by the Party leadership in the ward to call on him for such a great assignment.

In his words, Dr. Fagbemi said, “I must sincerely appreciate this kind gesture and public display of love and confidence first in the leadership of our dear Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSE and my humble self.

This is very rare and I can assure you all that we will neither take this for granted nor let you down. Even though our primary focus for now is the elevation and re-election of our Boss and Principal, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, we will however not thrash this clarion call and I can assure you that in days ahead sequel to our continuous and all-inclusive consultations with relevant stakeholders, we will effectively communicate our well-thought-out decision in the best interest of our people, our great party as well as all of us. I am eternally grateful and we shall continue to join forces with our dear Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde in serving with all of our might and strength to better the lives of our people”, Fagbemi concluded.

If you would recall, Mogaji Fagbemi who is a Chieftain of the PDP from Ibadan Northwest Local Government area made a shot at the Federal House of Representatives, Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency in the 2019 general elections but withdrew from the race for some local reasons to avoid disintegration of the party as at the time. He was Deputy Director General (Oyo South) of the Engr. Seyi Makinde Campaign Organization/ Oyo State PDP Campaign Council in the 2019 general elections that ushered in the present administration of Oyo State under His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde.
