Liverpool have submitted an opening bid for Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir, reports claim.
French newspaper Le Parisien claim the Reds have offered €60million (£53m) for the attacking talent.
But Lyon are not tempted, and it is claimed the deal is not close for various reasons.
Le Parisien say that Fekir and his entourage are not entirely convinced about joining the Premier League club.
Lyon are not in any rush to accept the offer because they feel Fekir’s value could increase during the World Cup – with new suitors potentially emerging.
Liverpool could have to pay €70m (£61m) plus performance-related add-ons.
