The Ondo State Government has declared Friday, January 17, 2025, as a work-free day for public servants across the state.
This decision is aimed at enabling residents to travel to their respective communities in preparation for the Local Government Election scheduled to hold on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
This announcement was made in a press statement issued by Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
The governor urged all stakeholders, including political parties, electoral officials, and citizens, to conduct themselves in a manner that ensures a free, fair, and peaceful election.
Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upholding democratic values and called on all eligible voters to take advantage of the work-free day to participate actively in the electoral process.
The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) is set to oversee the election, which will determine the leadership of local governments across the state.
