Oyo State House of Assembly has on Thursday, confirmed the nominated board members of Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC).

The Oyo State House of Assembly presided by the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin made the confirmation after the nominees face screening and questioning during the house plenary on Thursday.

The 8 – Man OYSIEC Board member confirmed includes Barr. Isiaka Olagunju as Chairman, Adeniyi Afeez, Ganiyat Saka, Olanrewaju Emmanuel, Remi Ayoade, Sunday Falana, Adeojo Elias and Kunle Agboola as members.

Speaking to newsmen after the screening, The confirmed Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, Barr. Isiaka Olagunju maintains that there have been a lots of challenges in organizing Local Government elections not only in Oyo state but the country entirely.

He added that the new board will see into creating a transparency approach to the process of credible election and will make political parties have confidence in the board’s capacity.

Responding to a question on the fact that the ruling party in power most times claims all positions in Local government elections, Barr. Olagunju stated that “there is no law claiming the ruling party may not claim all the sits.

“If the process is transparent, even if you loose you will know why.

“We will not participate in rigging election in Oyo state.”
