Fresh controversy has erupted following the circulation of an alleged leaked audio recording linked to former member of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Funke Ashekun.
The audio, which has generated widespread reactions across social media platforms, allegedly contains discussions involving the recruitment of dissatisfied former church members and plans aimed at opposing the leadership of the church, including its General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya.
The issue gained further attention after several bloggers, including one identified as Aunty Adunni Blog, shared claims alleging the existence of an organised network working against the ministry. Although some individuals initially denied the allegations, the emergence of the purported audio recording has intensified public debate and renewed scrutiny within religious circles.
Voices identified in the recording as Wale Akpeji and another individual known as Sola were allegedly heard discussing strategies for recruiting participants and outlining expectations for those willing to be involved.
Reports surrounding the leaked conversation also alleged discussions about possible financial rewards and overseas travel opportunities for individuals prepared to publicly speak against the church leadership.
As the audio continues to circulate online, reactions among church members and observers have remained mixed, with many expressing disappointment over the development.
To some observers, the incident highlights the dangers of unresolved grievances, broken trust, and internal divisions capable of creating tension within religious communities. What many expected to remain a relationship founded on faith, loyalty, and spiritual commitment has now become overshadowed by allegations, counterclaims, and attempts to undermine established leadership.
