Hon Bimbo Oladeji, A member of Oyo state House of Assembly has raises concern of the 300% increase in LAUTECH Tuition fee

Oladeji representing Ogbomoso North state constituency while presenting motiom of urgent public importance during the plenary today call for urgent need for the authority to have a second look at the decison

” it has become a thing of concern that LAUTECH has raised its school fees by over 300% base on a recent circular realeased by the University Authority. school fees for all categories of students have beeb raised from Sixty Five and Seventy Thousand Naira(N65,000.00 & N70,000.00) to between Two Hundred and Three Hundred Thousand Naira ( N200,00 & N3000.000)

” The benefit of education cannot be over emphasized . the astrononmical increass will be a huge burden to most parents, majority of whom are civil servants, petty traders, and peaseant famers whom are still battling with how to make ends meet.”

She said further that ” The Increase will lead most of the indigent students whose parent cannot afford it to drop out of school. it will also discourage other from seeking further higher education.”

“We are all aware that , the public University is the last hope of the common man who cannot afford the fees paid in private Universities.”

She however call on the Oyo and Osun state house of Assembly’s committee on education to meet with governing council of the University and the University management.
