Students  of Ladoke Akintola University have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail on the governor of Oyo and Osun to use part of the bail out and parish club refund  to solve the  lingering financial crisis that is crippling  the institution.

The students under the auspices of LAUTECH DEFENDERS, explains that the school has been mostly shut since last year over the failure of the two owner states to fund its operations despite the release of bailout out fund and Paris trench refund to the two states. This has however made the students to remain in same level since 2015.

According to a press statement made signed by Oyedeji Ahmed  and made available to National Insight, the student said further that  “Mr President Sir, it would interest you to know that LAUTECH was factorized in their demand for the bailout fund but has never for once benefited from it. This is as a result of insincerity and lack of commitment to the progress of the institution”

“ For the past eleven months both academic and administrative staff of the university has been on strike for nonpayment of salary. This has thrown the entire students of over 34,000 men and women into the street. The students have lost over a year of their academic program”

“Our appeal to your Excellency is not only to intervene on the lingering crises bedeviling our institution but to interrogate the two Governors on LAUTECH while you meet them on Friday along with others. Your quick intervention now will save the future of over 34,000 students, some who had only three months to graduate and disregarding the role that the founders of the institution played in setting it up”.
