A retired nurse in her sixties, Mrs. Elizabeth Ikeobi, has emerged as one of the inspiring highlights of the 18th convocation ceremony of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, where 7,641 students graduated across 11 faculties.

Ikeobi, who returned to school to update her professional qualifications, described her academic journey as a fulfilling experience, noting that she is not slowing down despite her age. “I am retired but not tired. I still intend to pursue my Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Nursing,” she said, praising the quality of training at the institution.
The convocation also saw Oladepo Caleb Olugbenga of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering emerge as the overall best graduating student with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.89.

He described the convocation as a milestone in the lives of the graduates, commending their resilience, diligence and determination throughout their academic journey.
In his remarks, the overall best graduating student attributed his success to hard work and divine guidance, expressing his ambition to pursue postgraduate studies and build a career in academia.
