The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has issued a fresh set of guidelines outlining conduct, ethics, and dress code requirements for students participating in both Computer-Based Tests (CBT) and non-CBT examinations.
In a notice released by the university, students were informed that all CBT examinations will be conducted strictly according to allocated batches, matriculation numbers, and scheduled times. The institution warned that any student who fails to sit for an examination during their assigned time will not be given another opportunity.
According to the directive, students are required to arrive at examination venues at least 15 minutes before the commencement of their papers. Loitering, waiting, or sitting around examination centres has been prohibited, and candidates are expected to queue orderly for their exams and leave the venue immediately after completion.
The university also reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on examination malpractice. Students have been cautioned against coming to the examination hall with prohibited items such as mobile phones, smart watches, face caps, and other materials capable of compromising the integrity of examinations.
In addition, LAUTECH emphasized strict compliance with the institution’s dress code. The notice specifically bars students from wearing palm slippers, tattered or “crazy” jeans, transparent or skimpy clothing, backless outfits, dreadlocks, and other forms of what the university described as indecent dressing. Male students are also prohibited from hair plaiting or weaving, wearing earrings, or unconventional use of face caps.
The management stressed that adherence to the dress code is compulsory, warning that students who violate the guidelines risk being denied access to examination halls.
The directive forms part of ongoing efforts by the university to maintain discipline, orderliness, and academic integrity during examinations.
