The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has received one of its distinguished alumni, Dr. Edison Christian, following his recognition as the World Best/Asia Best Clinical Acupuncturist in Integrative Medicine 2025–2026.
Dr. Christian, who graduated from the Department of Pure and Applied Biology in 2007 with a degree in Plant Biology (Environmental Biology option), paid a courtesy visit to the university on Thursday.
He is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mystical Rose Clinic Limited, Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Clinical Acupuncturists, and Peace Ambassador of Nigeria to the Pan African Assembly.
He also serves as the Assistant Secretary and Public Relations Officer of the Association of Catholic Medical Practitioners of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter.
Welcoming the award-winning alumnus, the Vice-Chancellor of LAUTECH, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, commended Dr. Christian for returning to identify with his alma mater after attaining international recognition.
Professor Kalilu described the visit as inspiring and noted that the university would explore the possibility of formalising academic engagement in the field of integrative medicine.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategy and Development), Professor Tunde Ogunkunle; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Innovation), Professor Dauda Araromi; and the Registrar, Mrs. Olayinka Balogun.
Also present were representatives of the Department of Pure and Applied Biology, Professor Adijat Funke Ogundola and Mr. Michael Popoola; the Chaplain of the Catholic Chaplaincy, LAUTECH, Rev. Fr. Patrick Adewuyi; and a representative of AIICO Insurance Plc, Aleksandr F. J. Oise.
