One of the leading aspirants for the 2019 governorship election in Oyo state, Akinwale Omololu Laosun has joined the African Action Congress (AAC) and also declared his governorship ambition.
Laosun, who was born to the family of Late Chief Latunde Ezekiel Ojo-Laosun of Oke-Dada – Baale Opadare Family, Mapo and Chief (Mrs) Olufunmike Moriyike Laosun (nee Oladimeji) of Ile Akere compound, Oja’ba, Ibadan.
He is an alumnus of the Seventh Day Primary School, Loyola College and University of Ibadan.
Laosun holds a BSc, MBA, with several vocational and professional qualifications in management, finance, administration, information technology, data programming, people management, public administration, project management, international business development and change management.
He has worked with OSADEP, Total Agrik, Laosun farms and Inlaks Group. As an individual with wealth of experience, Laosun also worked with the Department of Employment in United Kingdom, Alphanet Solutions and Fidelity Investments.
Laosun is also an informed community builder, an astute leader and a business process re-Engineer who has been recognized in the United Kingdom with invitations to 10 Downing Street and Buckingham Palace.
He is also an experienced Entrepreneur and Project Director who has led and is still involved in various community development projects, youth training projects, children’s homes support, missionary projects, business start-up monitoring and coaching.
While speaking on the reason why he joined AAC, Laosun said that he believes in the ideology of the party and that it’s a party of the people.
“I’m joining AAC because it is God ordained. I am also very happy for the people of Oyo state because the transformation they are yearning for is finally here. I use this medium to call on the people of Oyo state to support Laosun and also go out and get their voters cards.”
According to him, everybody must participate in politics because politics is not a means of power, manipulation and corruption as seen in many countries of the world but rather to create an equitable community where every individual is presented with an opportunity to live meaningfully and peacefully.
“Only those who are God-fearing and selfless can bring the growth and transformation the people of Nigeria and Oyo state deserve. I dream of a state that will be relevant and significant to our nation’s and the continent’s economic development. With my manifesto, this is possible, when given the opportunity to serve as the Governor of Oyo state in 2019.”
