In a tragic incident in the early hours of Thursday, a building collapse in the Jegede Oluloyo area of Ibadan, Ona Ara Local Government Area, claimed the lives of ten people, including the wife of the building’s owner and three of his grandchildren.

The building reportedly collapsed around 2 a.m., causing devastation within the family. National Insight gathered that, while the landlord survived and is currently hospitalized, his wife, one of his children, and three grandchildren lost their lives in the incident. Additionally, another victim, identified as Wale, also perished. In total, the tragedy left ten dead and eleven others injured.

Three victims had already been recovered before we arrived, and our team recovered four more. Our men are still working on the site.”

The deceased were reportedly laid to rest shortly after the incident, while the injured are receiving treatment in nearby hospitals.
