Kwara State Technical Committee on COVID-19 today confirms two seperate cases of COVID-19 in the state.

According to the report,One is the wife of the UITH patient, a UK returnee, who died last Thursday and the other is another UK returnee.

Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor/Spokesman of the Technical Committee on COVID-19 disclosed this in a statement issued after the government received official confirmation of test results from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Test Centre in Ibadan. 

The state Governor Abdulrahama today flagged off the disbursement of conditional cash transfer initiative of the Federal Government to 25,000 households in Kwara.

Each benefiting household will receive N20,000 cumulatively for the months of January, February, March and April.

The state governor in a post on his tweeter page commended the Kwara State Technical Committee on COVID-19, led by His Excellency the Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi, for their sacrifice and commitment to the wellbeing of our people.

He also commend all the corporate bodies and individuals who have donated to this humanitarian cause or have been involved in any kind of campaign to flatten the curve of transmission of COVID-19.

 
The government will address a news briefing tomorrow morning at 11am to give details and further measures now being taken to tackle the development.
