Residents of Kosobo Community in Oyo East Local Government, have commended Seyi Makinde for the successful completion of key road projects within the area, describing the development as a major boost to infrastructure and quality of life.
In a letter dated April 24, 2026, the community expressed profound gratitude to the governor for his commitment to grassroots development, particularly highlighting the construction of five roads with asphalt surfacing and drainage systems.
The affected roads include Chief Ashamu Road, Olayiwola Street, Catholic Convent Road, and other link roads connecting to the Oyo-Akinmorin axis.
The residents noted that the projects have significantly improved mobility, enhanced security, and uplifted living standards in the neighbourhood. They also acknowledged the earlier installation of streetlights, which they said has further strengthened safety and nighttime visibility within the community.
The statement equally recognised the contributions of Monsurat Sunmonu, praising her sustained efforts toward the development of Oyo town and her role in facilitating the projects.
According to the community, the timely completion of the roads reflects the effectiveness of engaging indigenous contractors, who demonstrated commitment and efficiency with minimal disruption to residents.
