Kingmakers of Ibadanland on Friday announced the nomination of Oba Owolabi Olakuleyin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadan
Oba Olakunleyin who untill his nomination was the Balogun of Ibadanland, head of the military line of the Olubadan system.
The decision was reached after thorough deliberations on friday and was officially made by the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Gbadamosi Adebimpe,
The development is in acknowledgement of Oba Olakulehin’s leadership qualities, experience, and commitment to the welfare of Ibadanland
Owolabi Olakulehin hails from the Ibadan Northeast Local Government Area (LGA) of Oyo State. His roots trace back to the Okugbaja family in the Ita Baale area of Ibadan.
In 1992, during the Third Republic under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olakulehin who retired from the Nigerian Army ventured into politics and successfully secured a seat in the House of Representatives, representing his constituency.
