Businessman and philanthropist, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi has firmly distanced himself from claims that he is sponsoring recent protests in Ibadan, describing the allegations as unfounded and misguided.
In a statement issued by his media team, the group dismissed the insinuations as “baseless fabrications being circulated by political jobbers.”
The team stressed that Sanusi is “too busy and too rarely in town to be connected in any way to the organisation or sponsorship of protesters.”
The statement further questioned the rationale behind the accusations, asking: “How many times does Jubril Dotun Sanusi even spend in Ibadan that would afford him the opportunity to sponsor protests? The claims simply do not make any sense.”
The media team urged those attempting to drag Sanusi into political controversies to “channel their insinuations elsewhere,” emphasising that he has no political ties.
“He is not a politician and should not be drawn into partisan battles,” they said.
They explained that Sanusi remained committed solely to the progress of Ibadan, noting: “All he is after is the development of the city through job creation, philanthropy, and empowerment initiatives targeted at residents.”
The statement advised the public to ignore the accusations, describing them as “manufactured distractions with no basis in fact.”
