Jubril Dotun Sanusi Celebrates Traditional Worshippers on Isese Day, Urges Prayers for Tinubu, Oyo, Nigeria

The Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has felicitated traditional worshippers across the world, particularly those in Oyo State and Nigeria, on the occasion of the 2026 Isese Day celebration.

Sanusi, in a statement made available to newsmen through his media team, described Isese Day as an important occasion for celebrating and reflecting on the rich cultural heritage, values and traditions of the Yoruba people.

He urged traditional worshippers to use the celebration to offer prayers for peace, unity and progress in Nigeria, specifically calling for prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the government and people of Oyo State, and the nation at large.

According to him, traditional institutions and cultural values remain vital to preserving the identity, unity and moral heritage of the Yoruba people.

The Ibadan High Chief also charged traditional worshippers to promote peaceful coexistence, tolerance and mutual respect among Nigerians of different faiths and cultural backgrounds.

He stressed that unity, collective prayers, mutual understanding and commitment to the common good were essential to the continued development, peace and stability of Nigeria.

Chief Sanusi wished traditional worshippers a peaceful, successful and memorable Isese Day celebration, while encouraging them to continue upholding the values of peace, culture and communal harmony.
