The lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North State constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Bisi Oluranti has urged traditional worshippers ( onisese) to promote Unity, Harmony and inclusion

Bisi Oluranti who is also the chairperson house committee on Culture and Tourism graced the 2024 Isese Day celebrations in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The annual event, which commemorates the cultural and spiritual traditions of the Isese (traditional Yoruba religion) worshippers, was marked with a vibrant gathering at the Ogbomoso Township Stadium.

The Ogbomoso North state constituency lawmaker while addressing the attendees, which included both Onisese (traditional religious leaders) and elesin (practitioners of Isese), the honourable member preached the importance of love, unity, and mutual respect among all members of the community.

“Today, we celebrate the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of our people,” Hon Oluranti said. “But more importantly, we come together as one, recognizing the inherent dignity and value in each and every individual, regardless of their faith or beliefs.”

Hon Oluranti whose presence and message underscored the commitment of the Oyo State government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, to fostering an inclusive and tolerant society.

Governor Makinde’s decision to grant Isese Day as an official public holiday in Oyo State was widely praised by the traditional worshippers, who viewed it as a significant step towards recognizing and celebrating the diversity of religious and cultural practices in the state.

“We are grateful to Governor Makinde for his foresight and his understanding of the importance of Isese Day, this gesture shows that our government is committed to preserving and honoring the rich heritage of our people.”

The event was attended by Hon commissioner for culture and tourist Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, council chairmen in ogbomosozone and other critical stakeholders
