The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refuted claims that it will resume the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and the replacement of lost Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) on May 27, 2025.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, described the report as misleading and urged the public to disregard it.
“The Commission has not announced any resumption date for the CVR,” Oyekanmi stated, emphasizing that any official updates will be communicated through INEC’s authorized channels.
