A frontline legal luminary and gubernatorial aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC   in Oyo state Chief Adeniyi Akintola has said the claims that Zonal leaders of the party  passes votes of confidence on the party chairman is nothing but a lie

Akintola in a statement signed by his media office said Omodewu’s claim is not only a self serving message, it is a despicable lie told to ambush the effort being made to straighten out party matters through APC headquarters fixed for Thursday

According to Niyi Akintola ” Seven zonal leaders of APC namely Pa Jolaoso from Ibarapa Zone, Pa Adekola from Oke Ogun II, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi from Oke-Ogun I, Pa Olorode from Ogbomoso Zone, Alhaji Basiru Ajibade from Ibadan I, Pa Ajibade from Oyo Zone and Chief Sanda from Ibadan Outer City. These are the known leaders of our great party known to the National Headquarters of the party. They were the leaders that held the several meetings with the National Officers of the party who had records of activities and reconciliation moves and they were the ones that have been invited for meeting by the National body and not a set of impostors that were hurriedly put together by the kangaroo executives of the state chapter.”

“It is on record that just this last Tuesday, 26th April, 2022, the illegal Chairman of the party in the state made a spirited effort to cajole the seven zonal leaders into a meeting designed to thwart the efforts of the National body’s move for genuine reconciliation. Only five of the respected Zonal leaders saw through the scam being hatched by the “jagba” group and stayed away from the meeting. Only two of the aforesaid seven zonal leaders attended the kangaroo meeting. In an attempt to save face, the “jagba” group hurriedly constituted another set of elders’ forum forgetting that the National body and the teeming members of our great party know those who constitute the elders forum for the state. The action of the jagba group on this issue is to say the least the beginning of the end. Need to say more?

“There has been frantic efforts by the “Jagba” syndicates to scuttle the central efforts in the last few days, the peak of which was the Kangaroo meeting boycotted by conscientious zonal leaders who refused to be bought.

Peace loving APC members should discountenance the so called communique which was based on falsehood the like of which Chief Bola Ige of blessed memory likened to five fingers of leprosy. The real meeting will hold in Abuja and the outcome will be published for all to hear and read. All these shenanigans by Omodewu and Co. to sabotage the real meeting should be ignored”

You will recall that Chief Akintola had in a press conference about two weeks ago submitted that unless the central party leadership steps into the Oyo APC crisis, the state might not make any headway in 2023.

The centre has acceded to this call as it tallies with what other voices of reason are saying. So all the falsehood generated by the “DEMO” people is to draw the carpet off the feet of the real peace effort
