The Imole Campaign Council has commenced the final stage of documenting victims of election-related violence recorded before, during and immediately after the Osun State Governorship Election.
The council, in a statement issued in Osogbo on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, Esq., expressed sympathy to individuals and families who suffered loss of life, injuries, assault, destruction of property, arrest and other forms of violence linked to the election.
The campaign council urged members of the public who are yet to submit details of affected persons to do so before the Friday, August 21, 2026 deadline.
According to the council, the documentation exercise is not partisan, stressing that victims would be captured irrespective of their political affiliation, party membership or voting preference.
It said the exercise was aimed at ensuring that every affected citizen receives sympathy, support, justice and appropriate compensation without discrimination based on political persuasion.
Members of the public were asked to provide the victim’s name, local government, ward and community, contact details of the next of kin, nature of the incident, date and location of the incident, a brief account of what happened, available evidence such as photographs, videos, medical or police reports and witnesses, as well as the current condition or status of the victim.
The council said the information and supporting evidence should be sent via text message or WhatsApp to +234 703 743 9142.
It explained that the documentation was not merely intended to keep records but would provide a credible basis for pursuing justice, accountability, support and appropriate compensation for victims and affected families.
“Osun comes first,” the statement added.
