Dr. Olapade Agoro, National Chairman and Presidential aspirant of the National Action Council (NAC), on Monday asked Nigerians to turn their backs to the antics of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to extent his political influence by imposing another President on the country in 2019.

Agoro in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Monday, described Obasanjo as “a carry over of the ugly past that must be dropped off into the sea of oblivion if Nigeria truly must move ahead into a glorious dawn.”

The NAC’ Presidential aspirant noted that the last Saturday’s meeting  “at Protea Hotel Ikeja Lagos of the  former President with his cohorts in Coalition of Nigeria Movement must definitely be a clear dangerous signal of desperation for power.”

Agoro maintained that “Olusegun Obasanjo having been at the pinnacle and zenith of power at so many national and global positional stages of honour and enjoyed the limelight for at least past 45 years than any other Nigerians and or Africans dead or living,  it calls for good  reasoning and serious questioning by the discerning minds to ask what else is Olusegun Obasanjo looking for that he has not got?

” It was Brigadier (later General)  Muhammed Buhari that led the coup to become Military Head of State 30th July 1975 but for Olusegun Obasanjo later to take over  as Military Head of State after the untimely murder of glamorous Murtala Muhammed in a coup spear headed February 13 1976 by Colonel Barkasuka Dimka

“It was  Colourful General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Olusegun Obasanjo’s second in command 1976- 1979 that sold Olusegun Obasanjo and pacified the core north for his acceptance. Musa Yar’Adua whose political image was looming and glowingly large all over Nigeria’s April 2007 Presidential Election.

” Unknown to the general public and for reasons best known to him Olusegun Obasanjo has turned his back  on General Abubakar Abdul Salam the man who freed him from the prison.

“The last of the ugly scenario past of Olusegun Obasanjo was the turn coat manner he publicly and decorum lacking tore his PDP membership card, the party that made him eight years Nigeria President.”
