Dr. Olapade Agoro, National Chairman and Presidential aspirant of the National Action Council (NAC), on Monday asked Nigerians to turn their backs to the antics of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to extent his political influence by imposing another President on the country in 2019.
Agoro in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Monday, described Obasanjo as “a carry over of the ugly past that must be dropped off into the sea of oblivion if Nigeria truly must move ahead into a glorious dawn.”
The NAC’ Presidential aspirant noted that the last Saturday’s meeting “at Protea Hotel Ikeja Lagos of the former President with his cohorts in Coalition of Nigeria Movement must definitely be a clear dangerous signal of desperation for power.”
Agoro maintained that “Olusegun Obasanjo having been at the pinnacle and zenith of power at so many national and global positional stages of honour and enjoyed the limelight for at least past 45 years than any other Nigerians and or Africans dead or living, it calls for good reasoning and serious questioning by the discerning minds to ask what else is Olusegun Obasanjo looking for that he has not got?
His words: “Travelling down the memory lane for knowledge updating purely for the purpose of alerting the general public to the dangers of allowing Obasanjo free ranging in porous the political space of Nigeria; it becomes pertinent bringing home to fore the following historical facts:
