Chairman of the Ibadan Football Association (IFA), Barrister Olurotimi Alli, has charged players of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan to maintain the momentum as they continue the quest for promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Barrister Alli, who made this charge while addressing the players when he led the executives of IFA on a visit to their Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) training ground on Wednesday, also gave them pat in the back for a job well done so far.
“We are here on the visit to appreciate you guys for what you have done so far. We are very impressed and happy with your performance so far in the ongoing campaign.
“You have really made us proud but I will like to charge you not to be complacent because the race is still on. Please, let’s maintain the momentum, let’s keep the fire burning until we finally secure the ticket we are looking for,” said the IFA boss.
He stated that the Ibadan Football Association (IFA) was solidly behind the team, just like the Oyo State Government, under the leadership of Engineer Seyi Makinde and the entire supporters and fans of the club.
“I know you are enjoying the full backing of the governor who is doing everything to back you and you know what he will do when the main goal is achieved. I equally want to let you know that we are behind you and I promise to host you when it is done,” added Libero, as the IFA helmsman is called.
Team Manager of the Ibadan soccer lords, Dimeji Lawal, thanked the IFA executives for the show of love to the club, assuring Barrister Alli and his team of the club’s readiness to return 3SC to the topflight at the end of the current season.
Responding on behalf of the players, skipper of the Oluyole Warriors, Omololu Waheed, appreciated the support of the IFA boss and his executives, promising that the ream will not disappoint IFA, the people of Oyo State and the entire supporters and fans of the club.
Barrister Alli, who was accompanied on the visit by the vice chairman, IFA, Akintola Idowu and the Secretary, Folorunsho Oyelakin, later gifted the team with an undisclosed amount of money as well as packs of bottled water and Lucozade Boost.
The iFA boss and his entourage were received by officials of the club led by the Team Manager Dimeji Lawal, alongside Chief coach Edith Agoye and his assistants as well as the Team Coordinator Adu Akintomiyi and the Team Psychologist, Yinka Lawson.
