The Ibadan Mega Voice (IMV), on Thursday, marked the start of its second anniversary with a courtesy visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, at the new ultramodern Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
IMV President, Prince Kola Olomide, represented by Mr. Tunji Aborisade, highlighted that the organization is composed of over 50 Ibadan-indigenous media professionals, both within and outside Nigeria. The visit, he explained, was part of the group’s dedication to preserving Ibadan’s cultural heritage, reinforced by the royal blessing received from the Olubadan, which underscores their positive influence on Ibadanland.
Aborisade emphasized that the IMV aims to unite Ibadan professionals under a common goal: prioritizing the city’s growth and development. “As we commence our second anniversary, we feel it is our duty, as mass communication experts, to contribute to the advancement of Ibadan,” he said, adding, “We seek divine guidance, Kabiyesi, as we pursue our goals.”
The Olubadan, speaking through High Chief Akeem Adewoyin, Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, commended the IMV for its intellectual prowess and commitment. He prayed for divine guidance in the group’s future endeavors.
