The Ibadan Discourse Group (IDG), a respected assembly of eminent Nigerians from the South West, has congratulated renowned journalist and writer, Dr. Lasisi Olagunju, on his recent election as a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL).
Dr. Olagunju, the Editor of Nigerian Tribune on Saturday and a distinguished member of IDG, was lauded for his remarkable contributions to journalism and intellectual discourse in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by the group’s Coordinator, Mr. Clement Ige, IDG described Dr. Olagunju as “a pride to the Tribune stable in particular and to journalism in general,” adding that he remains one of the enduring consciences of the profession.
“We felicitate with one of us, Dr. Lasisi Olagunju, on his election as a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Letters. Dr. Olagunju deserves this recognition as a deep thinker and thoroughbred, award-winning journalist who consistently elevates public discourse through his incisive writing,” the statement read.
The group further praised Dr. Olagunju as a “first-class researcher, philosopher, and the people’s columnist,” whose intellectual rigor and commitment to truth continue to make significant impact on society.
“We are proud of this achievement and pray for even greater milestones as he continues to serve humanity through the power of the pen,” the statement added.
