Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School Celebrates 62nd Founder’s Day Anniversary

The 62nd founders’day anniversary celebrations of Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Aperin Oniyere Ibadan came to a close on Saturday 5th February 2022 with Anniversary Lecture delivered by Dr. Abiodun Adeoye, an old student of the school and Chairman Medical Advisory Committee of University College Hospital Ibadan.

The lecture focused on Health after 40s, the scourge of Hypertension.

Dr. Adeoye said the scourge of hypertension is now getting more endemic than Covd-19 which has attained global attention. He remarked that more attention should be paid to health from age 40 and above.

In his address at the grand finale the National President of ICAGSOBA, Dr. Morohunkola Thomas enumerated some of the efforts of the association in supporting the school such as provision of desks and benches for 1,000 students, organizing preparatory classes for final year students.

He also mentioned that the association has instituted Award Prizes for outstanding students in various subjects and that a committee has been put up to organize prize giving day from this year.

He called on members to come forward to institute prizes and awards in the name of thier loved ones.

Dr. Morohunkola announced that from this year members are to pay annual membership dues as this will help in the running of the association.

The Anniversary celebration featured Career talk/Counselling sessions for the students, Novelty match, Science Exhibition, Anniversary lecture, Business session and Award of honour to some members who have done well in their various fields of endeavors and for their contributions to the School.

Some of the Awardees are Comrade Ayobami Adeogun, Dr. Kayode Ajayi, Dr. Abiodun Adeoye, and Dr. Kehinde Oladeji

A renovated building donated by the 1981 set for Library was commissioned and presented to the school.

In his brief remarks, the Commissioner of Education Oyo State, Barr. Rahmon Abiodun Abdulraheem noted that the Government will not relent in ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.

He assured that the newly donated library building will be equipped with books in the coming days.

The Anniversary celebrations was capped with a Thanksgiving service on Sunday 6th February 2022 at CAC Olugbode Ibadan.

In attendance were set representatives, members, past and present leaders of the association
