If you remember, the Biblical Satan himself was an admirable personality in heaven until his covetous idiosyncrasy became known to the public. Lucifer was not satisfied with fame, talent and everything his boss, Yaweh had given him, he went extra miles to satisfy his voracious love for undeserved honor and affluence. The irony of life is that, if Satan had succeeded, he would probably be the one the religious people would be celebrating today. That is why Chinua Achebe of the blessed memory said the story of hunting would always give accolades to the hunters until lions write their own stories.
The assertion that success is a product of undetected treachery may be valid beyond mere comprehension, it is only someone whose treachery has not succeeded that is demonized, that is why Yoruba people would always insinuate that there are messes beneath every wealth and affluence. If one does evil in secret to get wealth and affluence, he would be celebrated and admired in public pending the time retribution would catch up with him.
Husspuppi, Abba Kyari and Nigerian politicians have something in common, they like self glorification and lust for fame, at the same time, they always wear the toga of sainthood in the public terrain, but behind the curtain is the real treachery, mess and mischievousness.
Husspuppi is known for his lascivious and extravagant lifestyle, he flaunts everything he does on social media to his unsuspected audience just to be admired, glorified and praised. Husspuppi lives expensive life and becomes a celebrity not because of his talent, skill or contribution to humanity, but because of his display of wanton affluence.
Abba Kyari as the head of Intelligent Unit in Nigeria police is not different from his partner in sewing business, since Abba Kyari came into limelight as a Super Cop, people did not remember his previous heinous crimes as Head of SARS in Lagos in spite of series of testimonies from his victims, he was always with Photographers on every assignment. Security activities and trailing of criminals were no longer secretive with Kyari, for every operation he goes with his men, bundle of pictures would flood our social media space even before they commence. His activities used to inform the conclusion that sometimes, Kyari and his men would enter bush just to have a picture for their audience. Here is a trait he shares with Husspuppy, anyone with such a trait is not without a skeleton in his cupboards, they are lover of undeserved and unnecessary accolades.
Nigerian politicians are also in this category, they would never do things without causing public uproar. If ordinary pencils and erasers are shared to the pupils, the resources they would allocate for media coverage and propagation would be more than the money they use to buy the pencils and erasers. All they pursue is self glorification. They always position themselves in a place where they would be noticed and praised for intangible deeds.
Kyari appears as saint to his unsuspected audience, he got attention of media and he used it to project himself as a super and infallible cop, but beneath him are gories, agonies and conspiracies. In the recent days, the same media that brought him to limelight is now his greatest adversary. Within days, a Super Cop has transformed to Husspuppy Cop. This is a lesson to those that fire arrows to the sky and cover themselves with mortar, if the world people don’t see you, nemesis is inescapable; you crack coconut on people’s forelegs in secret, don’t worry, they would soon crack palm kernel on your forehead in public.
Note: I’m not saying there are no sincere and honest politician, but they are insignificant few.
