How Usi Ekiti people mourn late Prof, Babalola Borisade.

The death news of the late Professor Babalola Borishade, former minister of Aviation and Education under President Olusegun Obasanjo was devastating news which created confusion and disbelief among the people of Usi Ekiti, where he hailed from.

Borishade a trailblazer, philanthropist and genial academician poses a fatherly figure to Usi people during his lifetime, not only he was passionate about the growth of the community, he was also a role model for the younger generations.

 His death is a colossal loss to the Kingdom and they all troop out to mourn the departure of a kind soul, nobody was ready to stop anybody from wailing and crying, in fact the town is in a mourning mood despite the fact that he died at the age of 71 Shortly after his death was announced, some of his kinsmen from USI Ekiti were not only sad but wondered why death could have taken such a genius and responsible personality away at this moment.

The content on their socio media pages was dirge, lamentation and mourning of the great man. Back home in Usi both the young and the old could not sleep, they were anxiously waiting for somebody to come and tell them its April fool and not real, but the reality dawn on them when they confirmed from a reliable source that Boris is gone.

Who will replace Boris, can we ever have his type again? No doubt if reincarnation is sure Usi people would still want Boris to be one of them again and again. As early as 7 am men and women, young and old, came out to join a rally organized by some community leader to sympathize and mourn the departed consanguine.

MOURNERS AT THE TOWN HALL

The rally continues for hours and later terminated at his house along Otun road. At around 7 in the evening a candle light procession was also held as part o activities to mark the beginning of the burial right.

Hundreds of people in black shirts hold lighted candle and moved round the How Usi people mourn late professor Babalola Borisade.
