Hon Segun Dokun Odebunmi, chairman National Assembly committee on Information, National Orientation Ethics and Value, has harps on the need for farmers to be trained in improved technology for enhanced food production and reduction of poverty
The lawmaker representing Surulere/Ogo Oluwa Federal constituency said this at the one day training organized for selected farmers in his constituency by National BIothechnology Development Agency, an Agency under the ministry of science and Technology in Ogbomoso on Tuesday
According to him “The development will attract and encourage more youths to participate in Agriculture and reduce unemployment rate in the county.”
Hon Odebunmi who was represented by his Legislative Aide, Femi Akanbi Oche said further there is a pressing needs to rebrand Agriculture in order to address the long believe that farming is for those who have no means of livelihood.
The lawmaker however released one Million naira loan facilities for the beneficiaries and urge them to make judicious use of the loan.
Fifty farmers from Surulere/ Ogo Oluwa local government participated in the training and they were group into two corporative team.
